These are John Coltrane’s Selmer Mark VI’s. You can tell that he took great care of them. Especially the tenor. The soprano was auctioned off in support of the John Coltrane foundation and raised $70,800. The tenor remained unsold. I’m guessing everybody at the auction house didn’t have the guts to fill Trane’s enormous tenor shoes. haha!
